Thanks guys! John, the LL Bean model was cheap. I assume you're talking about the little black & white thing trying to climb my leg in the last of the 3 pics?
Been too busy lately to get much done!

By the way, these are Charles Tyrwhitt shirts I ordered right after this thread started. They took a while because I added pockets and needed the sleeves shortened.

The "large check" on the first shirt in your picture will work perfectly with the kilt, I have many such patterns. In fact and with care and thought, you can go even larger.

Thanks Jock! Maybe get kilted up in a couple weekends for the fall festival in Ellicotville, NY: http://www.ellicottvilleny.com/fall-festival/ It's a family gathering - we're renting a house for 3 or 4 days.
Nothing like hanging around kilted.

I wonder if you could give us your impressions of the "tattersall adventure" weekend? If you survive, of course! It may help those that are standing on the brink, undecided whether to venture into the world of tattersall.

Now that I have three of them, I will definitely! So far, I have worn the Savile Row one a few times with my tweed kilt jacket (one that VMAC tailored for me), and have found it to be just fine. Thanks!

Nice! I especially like the other one, the one on the left, with the big checks, what I see being called "country check" in Britain.
My nice country check shirt came. I need to snap a photo of myself wearing that shirt, tweed waistcoat, plain leather sporran, &c and see if it passes the Jock Test.

Forum sponsor ScotWeb has a tattersall, spread collar shirt for $19 US by Hoggs of Fife.

Three color options, sport shirt sizing, cotton. These seem to be more weekend wear, but look like they'd be perfect for a weekend kilted.

Thanks for the tip. I just ordered one. It may not be a perfect fit (neck size a bit big for my chest size), but I'll give it a try. The total for my order using VISA and with foreign currency exchange fees (ha ha) and shipping was closer to $30. I opted for the less expensive shipping (7 pounds, 15 day estimate) and I did receive the XMTS discount.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

I received my Hoggs of Fife tattersall from Scotweb today - 13 days after my order and 8 days after dispatch - pretty good delivery time. The shirt fits well except that, as I expected, it is a little big in the neck, but not enough to create a problem. It's a very handsome green/brown/blue tattersall which should go well with many colors. I regard it as a great buy, based on all my shopping around. I will endeavor to post a picture next time I suit up.

I will be interested to hear a report on its durability John. Hoggs of fife make some good quality clothing at reasonable prices. Very much favoured by the farming community and easily obtained over here from country stores.
