Excellent kit with quite becoming accessories, including your sporran, in my humble opinion. I really like the "red" hose with the MOD tartan. Very well done, indeed. Guid on ye!

And the only reason they'll notice you is because you're in a kilt!

I don't see anything wrong with that sporran. Isn't it a military style? I think it's perfect. Hose really compliment your tartan and your arm accessory really classes up your whole ensemble. ;)

And thanks for the comments on the sporran. It is a military-style sporran. It is supposed to be actual military issue "Royal Regiment of Scotland" sporran - I purchased it used from ebay UK. I don't know enough about it to know if its truly authentic, but I like it.
My thinking on my sporran is just that it isn't very dressy. On the flip side, however, a fur, brass-cantle sporran isn't very modern or contemporary. So while I would like a nice new sporran, I need to put some thought into the style.

"MOD tartan" was a (possibly erroneous) reference to the Black Watch tartan of the kilt in question, MOD being "Ministry of Defense" since all the Highland regiments have been amalgamated into one with the same tartan etc. My understanding may not be quite right though... but that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
Cheers,
Wesley
