Aaaah...
...'was not going to get in on this but so many of those who boldly confessed, wore the resolve down. Nice job. Guilty kilted pleasures, there are two:
Wearing tartan kilts with plain old regular sport coats, blazers, call them what one will. Not modified or cut short for kilts. With trousers, daily 'wear them for work and most social occasions; 'just plain like jackets and have twenty. Gotta admit, Steve Ashton's doing so was "final approval" needed. Basically, here, the tartan kilt is a substitute for decent trousers, ergo, in this instance, the same shirts and blazers go above it for informal / daily.
In the warm, especially summer, 'prefer a flavour of khaki or tan or brown or olive solid 5.11 Tactical Duty kilt with some flavour of Cabela's long-sleeve safari shirt in solid off white, tan, light green, carmel, khaki or light blue, with usually tan hose and some full-brim hat (like a Tilley or Equator or real bush hat). The lighter hues reflect some of the sun and the "full covering" does some protecting of the as a waggish colleague calls, "Your pasty-a** white boy skin."
