I took a kiltmaking workshop from Elsie Stuehmeyer (co-author of TAoK) and I highly recommend it, if you get the opportunity.
It was more than learning to make a kilt! It was so interesting and entertaining to hear her stories from her time as a kiltmaker for Thomas Gordon & Son (Glasgow) over a half-century ago, told in her thick Glasgwegian accent.
