Just a wee observation. Like many things in life, there are many ways of doing things that might be right or might be wrong for us all, except the person involved who, hopefully will be pleased with their choice. Kilt pleats are no different, you might make your choice ,or, perhaps your kilt maker might make the choice for you. Job done!
just wear the kilt and you will be none the wiser as you will never see it, from an observer's point of view! Besides, it will be too late to change it! ........Until, that is, your next kilt! Just get on and wear the blooming thing and get on with life.

And photos, much less computer graphics, don't do it justice.
Sale of the tartan raises funds to protect the endangered Scottish Wildcat. I'd contact Glen to find out when another run will be done.

Don't know if this is authentic or even current, but found a link at Braw Kilts...
Hyperlink didn't work, so it might be a phantom.

A mighty fine tartan there and for a wonderful cause. A sound choice for those who are uneasy about wearing a Clan tartan that they have little or no connection to.

True, but on the other hand the pleated portion is 50% of the visible kilt. For something as dear as a bespoke kilt I want to choose how both halves of it look.
The parallel is buying a £500 bespoke tweed jacket and telling the tailor that they can use any fabric they wish for the back of the jacket, because you'll not be able to see the back when you're wearing it.
For me, as a piper, when I'm wearing kilts the back is seen as much as the front due to processing in and out of Churches etc.
It's even a bigger consideration for competition Pipe Band kilts due to the backs being seen far more than the fronts. The public only sees the fronts briefly as the band goes into a circle at the start, the entire performance being done with the backs of the kilts facing the public.
