Found a new Kiltmaker from south of the Equator!

					Hey all
I thought you might wanna check out the kilts coming out of Brasil of all places!
 www.x-kilts.com
Here's a site where you can get an understandable translation-- http://dictionary.reference.com/translate/text.html

Their kilts certainly look wearable and made by someone with a pretty good amount of sewing experience.
Their prices roughly convert to $49.00 for the black kilt and about $112.00 for the "tartan" kilt
From what I read, all of their kilts are made of a lighter weight polyvicose which I think is a wise choice as I don't want to think of how unpleasant it would be to wear several yards of wool in the Brasilian moist and muggy heat.

 Enjoy!
Wear your kilt proudly, but carry a big stick

                                                #2

The three button closure is certainly original. It won't allow for very much play in the hips though. Like the AmeriKilt, it can tug as the wearer gains weight in that area.
The straight (and relatively narrow) apron is reminiscent of the StillWater Economy Kilts.

Since I prefer the tapered apron and its ability to "hug" the body line, and since the buttons are a little too much like an Ann Taylor skirt, I'll leave these to others.

I do wish them good luck in the new venture though!

Took the words out of my mouth Jimmy. Can't say I'm too wild about the buttons and narrow apron. Kind of makes me think it would look nice with a white blouse and some knee high socks

I do wish them luck, selling "kilts" in Brasil can't be that easy.

I also think they look very skirt like with those buttons on the apron. That may be the next fad in the kilt fashion.
As for the UK Style Pleats, I have no problem with them. The pleat counts may be less than a traditional style, but that is not a traditional kilt! I bet they target their kilts to the fashion minded young guys.

Enjoy! emm, no thanks, but I do notice something familiar about the name, hmm.

Can anybody i.d. the one picture on the side bar, looks like WW2 kilties with grenade launchers (not the bayonet one)? One of the very few combat pics from that war if true.
