GBS is from Canada. Newfoundland to be exact, and they do traditional Canadian Maritimes tunes fused with rock and folk - it's a little different than any traditional Scots that you may here, and mostly Irish influenced, but I agree they are definitely worth a listen. If you like very, very traditional regional tunes, there second-newest CD, The Hard and The Easy is outstanding. Gaelwynd plays beautiful music, but the singing is what always stands out to me -- Rhiannon's voice is amazing. I've played with her and a couple of the other band members outside of the Gaelwynd setting, and they are all great musicians. Give 'Wee Weaver' a listen and you'll see what I mean about her voice :-)
