    GBS is from Canada. Newfoundland to be exact, and they do traditional Canadian Maritimes tunes fused with rock and folk - it's a little different than any traditional Scots that you may here, and mostly Irish influenced, but I agree they are definitely worth a listen. If you like very, very traditional regional tunes, there second-newest CD, The Hard and The Easy is outstanding. Great Maritimes tunes that go back centuries with the flair that only GBS can add. www.greatbigsea.ca

    Gaelwynd plays beautiful music, but the singing is what always stands out to me -- Rhiannon's voice is amazing. I've played with her and a couple of the other band members outside of the Gaelwynd setting, and they are all great musicians. Give 'Wee Weaver' a listen and you'll see what I mean about her voice :-)
