I actually am part irish, but predominately scottish. I got the St. Patrick irish tartan from lochcarron in the 10 ounce lightweight tartan. you can only get this tartan in 10 ounce lightweight tartan, nothing any thicker. I have the St. Patrick tartan because part of my last name is Patrick, so we are therefore related to St. Patrick in some way. Happy hunting on your kilts.

Hey Angel923! Glad to hear from another "man of size"! There are a few of us out here but if you have any questions on kilts or gear that will fit, drop me a PM and I'll be happy to share all I have managed to learn from the rather questionable rabble that inhabit this forum.

So, Angel923, What did you wind up ordering? Inquiring minds want to know!!!!!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Congrats Angel 923,
Ain't Kathy a cool lady?
Tell you what, I don't wear belts with her kilts...once she's measured you you won't need them. I just wear the sporran with a leather sporran strap. Her kilts look a lot better without a belt.
Wow, tartan choice is tough every time. But you gotta choose for you.
Wait til you feel the swing of that 16oz beauty!
But hey, what do I know...I only have six of her hand sewn kilts with one on order. Gonna be over your way in April for the Gathering of Nations.

Cavscouts Celtic knot kilt belt is the NICEST that I've seen. Hope you have a large bank account Lad, because you are going to need it! Everytime you turn around is something else added to the want list!
