I'm just glad that it didn't burn the house down and you are both safe . We still are planning to come for a stay next year (Feb). Can you use the fabric for a project (pillows are nice in tartan I hear).
Since the tartan is Poly, I wouldn't deem it safe with heat.

Just put a big old label on it that says Abercrombie and Fitch, put a few more gashes in it and then sell it for four times what it cost.
sounds like a win win situation.

That's what I need, a NOMEX Kilt to go with the meltable uniforms that the army gave me. My IBA will protect my vital organs, My ACH will protect my Noggin and a nomex kilt will protect those other vital regions. I'm going to send that off to the Army uniform board as the next combat uniform.

Yes, it is sad when we think that we haven't gotten our ROI out of it. Do put it on ebay with a Punk Goth title, because someone will pick it up for $25.

I killed a PV kilt once by backing into someone with a lit cigar in his hand. Melted a nice hole in the rear of the kilt.
I showed it to several friends who all refused to believe what had happened. The claimed that giant hole with singed edges on the back of my kilt was the result of a mexican meal!
Sadly, the kilt had to be put down.
