Gents, I agree that these kilts are not appealing to most kilt wearers. Apron is to small. Not enough pleats. Did not find any sizing info or length. For these prices, I'ld still order another Stillwater for my collection.

she should at least offer the camo in adult sizes..the monster truck...I can understand why that one is kids only..

I am interested in making them better.

I have been working mainly on demand basis and about a dozen have left my shop but honestly, I am no expert. I make them custom to each client and though most of my past clients own one or more other kilts, no one has given any complaints so I was interested in hearing the commentary here. Very helpful.

I feel that my photos may not be translating well because men's kilts do not fit will on curvaceous female dress form and I am waiting for photos back from clients to add them on.

What can I do better? What am I missing?

It's always nice to have another vendor here. I think that you're kilts are unique. Not better or worse, just different. You will most definitely find people that prefer the style that you have already created. I would agree with a few of the comments from above that maybe ironing the pleats and pressing them a bit more, and maybe adding a few more pleats, but honestly I think it's great that you have started your own kilt making business. I wish I had the time, resources, and experience to do the same.

Some people here will swear by USA Kilts, some other's will swear by Freedom Kilts, Some by Utilikilts, etc. No matter what product you create you'll have those that are loyal to you, and those that prefer others.

A suggestion might be to have a fun contest or something on this forum, and the winner of that contest wins a kilt from you. On the condition though that the person that you give the kilt to, has to write a review on the kilt. It's just a suggestion but some of the other kilt makers do stuff like that every now and then. Or you can just wait for someone from this list, to purchase one, and write a review. Either way is fine, but however it goes I wish you the best of luck!

Well, there does seem to be a niche market for items like the monster truck kilt in adult sizes. Not for me, but I would look at a Batman something if you offered it and made some of the design changes mentioned. (I have that type of pleating on a kilt, I don't wear it out of the house.)

If I may, what type of pleating do you mean? My kilts are done with deep knife pleats (which I was under the understanding that most urban kilts were done that way).

Also - I do any fabric choices. Not limited to something previously shown so something like Batman would be available.

it's good to see a vendor on here..and one that is willing to listen to suggestions on how to make things better is great.. I would suggest pressing the kilts and then putting new pics up... the website is going to be your virtual store front and you really should show your best work on there..

personally, I like the design of your kilts, I prefer the narrow apron over a apron that goes from hip to hip...it just seems to fall into place better when I sit down.... I love the look of the faux leather kilt.. but my only concern on that is how well would it stand up to wearing it often? I know leather is a very long lasting material... but the faux leather I have seen was rather thin and didn't last that long (cheap jacket I used to have).

if you were to do a contest for a kilt...I'd enter that one.. and would love to review it on here...so please keep that idea in mind..
