Don't worry, it didn't come off as preachy at all.

It's a shame you missed the kilt, but usually if you email them they are pretty good about arranging to get one in the size you want.
I've ordered a few things from them that way before at no extra cost.

If it started out as a 16oz kilt I wonder what it would weight per yard now that it has been felted?

think how warm it is going to be this winter.

    A bit of a teaser...

Well, I mentioned that I am going to be doing a project later in the week to replace the now very small kilt that is going to a friend's little brother.

Here's a picture of the tartan involved. (I'm pretty sure it's just a random fashion tartan, but it is very nice. If anyone does happen to know which tartan it is, let me know.)

I'm pretty sure no-one here will be able to guess accurately exactly what the project is, other than a replacement kilt.

So keep your eyes peeled on the D.I.Y thread.

A long time ago, I got my best pair of leather gloves wet and they dried a little stiff. I asked my friend what I could do to soften the leather and he recommended boiling it. So I did and the glove promptly shrunk so small that the entire glove could sit in the palm of my hand.

A little irritated (they were my favorite gloves), I showed my friend the result and asked him what I did wrong.

"What did you do?" he asked.

"I boiled it, just like you said," I replied.

"No . . . you were supposed to *oil* it!" he said.

    Except I did that too!!
