What an impressive selection of bands, and all to be seen, and heard, at one Highland Games - but I do not understand the presence of so many non-Celtic (in other words, military) elements at such an event. I am wondering what they have to do with Scottish Games or Gatherings.

With so many wonderfully authentic kilted uniforms on view, these 'Brigadoonish' , but colourfully co-ordinated, outfits look strangely out of place to my traditional eyes, but I guess that's just 'me' !

No, Hamish, it's not just you. Those hats forced me to do a double take too. But that's just a High School band. They probably had a couple of parents sew those things together for them.

Of course the sheep are scared. Sheepskin makes great bags for Highland Pipes.
