Welcome and good luck with the wife. I had to work on mine for awhile to get her to come around. Start by wearing one around the house some, then talk with her (well in advance) about wearing it out with her. Be patient. My wife is not to the FHCAG status of making me kilts, yet, but at least she is becoming more tolerant. It has taken me years to get her to this point.
I think part of the problem is this: if you are in a kilt with your wife, then no one is looking AT HER since everyone is admiring your kilt.
Keep up the gentle pressure, and good luck!

I've been married 28 years... I wonder if she really cares anymore.

Sounds like you are at the stage where you are no longer man and wife, but just room-mates!

No, we love each other very much. I wear kilts when we go out and people come up to me. Just not sure if she thinks I'm an exibitionist or just crazy, but I don't care which, I just like being kilted and a standout (radical).

Wasn't there some kind of Yahoo support group for wives of kilt-wearers posted on here a while back?
Anyhow, from New Hampshire
There are 10 kinds of people in the world...
Those that understand binary, and those that don't.
