Let's not take this thread there, please. I started it to find out how to carry a broadsword.

i'd say one of those belts to sling over the shoulder would be pretty cool to carry the sword. though i have no idea where to get one, internet?

You can buy sword baldrics on the internet, but for something that simple, I'll make it myself. At it's most simple, it's just a couple of kilt belts buckled together on one end, sewn at the proper length and angle at the other end, with a loop sewn in at the bottom to hold the scabbard.

That's a capital idea -- let's not go there, please.
For baldrics (and broadswords) I highly recommend:

It's a pity Wilkinson Sword went out of business.

Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest that St. Andrews Society in NY were the only ones doing it that way or that they were the originators. I'm sure that others do it similarly or maybe even more elaborately. Although since the Society in NY has been around for 250 years they have been doing it that way for a long time. It just happened to be the there that I saw that procession for the first time.

No worries, Chef. It can very impressive, where ever it's done!

Don't know about the horn, but when it comes to historical highland pistols you have your choice of functional or non.
Or for those less formal occasions how about this nifty kilt pin?

. . .
I was joking, actually, but if I had 300 bucks for anything less than a new WPG kilt, I'd opt for the functional model. That would be cool to shoot, and a weapon that won't shoot (like an unloaded one, for example) is just a club.
