It's too hot for hose down here in the summer: partly a shoe problem. Especially in July... Guess it's a little different out here. Maybe a little more like the Middle East or something.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

You are quite correct I/we would wear trousers and short woollen socks!Hot days? What is hot?

In hot weather I wear regular Smartwool hiking socks scrunched down. I find that tall hose is the worst culprit to being overly hot in my kilt. A wide leather belt is another heat culprit. The kilt itself is quite comfortable in hot weather due to the ample *ahem* venting underneath.

I think I'm almost convinced to move to Scotland. I hate hot. Those of us with extra insulation don't do so well in the summer. :P

As Mr. Burns famously said (this being Montgomery Burns, not Robert), "Since the dawn of time, man has yearned to destroy the sun."

Sorry for being a bit off topic there. More on topic, I think lighter-weight wool-blend hose are just fine for summer. I've worn piper hose to a lot of summer games, and never had a problem.

You don't have to shave them to the skin, just trim the hairs shorter. Most barber or hair cutiing razors come with different ends that snap on and are for different lengths of hair.

NO, shaving is out of the question!

You don't have to be Scottish to be comfortable!

After spending 3 weeks in the Highlands in May 2003, I think I'd rather live there than Houston, TX.
