I currently only have a Black Watch and under the circumstances I'm not sure it would be the best one to wear... Maybe I'll just wear my Fraser red necktie. Even with Jerry's super fast shipping I don't think I could get a new kilt here in time. That's what I get for not being on these forums for awhile.

I wore my Gordon for my Gordonian Jacobite ancestors.

Thanks Ron for starting this thread, as it will be a Kilted Wednesday, too this week. I have the kilts and family connection with the Gordons and Robertsons, but I think my Stewart Black will rule the day.

Well, some Campbells did fight at Culloden in both armies, but mostly on the Government side as the Argyll Militia. Of course, "Black Watch" was not their clan tartan at the time - clan tartans not yet in existence! The actual Black Watch, the 43rd (later 42nd) Regiment, was not present at Culloden, but was then serving in Flanders fighting the French....

I am currently travelling and without kilts (insert sob and tears here) but would be attired proudly in my Ancient MacDonald were I not so far away from it.

According to my great grandfather (he passed in 1934) via my great uncle, our line of McIntyres are in America because an ancestor was transported in 1747 for being a Jacobite captured at Culloden. So, I can't ignore the date by any means. I haven't decided which kilt to wear, but it can't be to work. It'll have to wait until I get home. For work, a tartan tie will have to do.

Decided on the Cameron Black and Red. Been a while since I've worn it to work and the black shirt and black hose seems fitting for this sad anniversary.

Wore my black Stewart tie today....I had one comment from a teacher (cause they often see me in tartan) that the tie was nice. I told her it was a sad day for the Scots, went into a bit, her eyes began to glaze over (as oftentimes most folks do when one begins on Jacobite history), so I simulated a tear and she escaped. As a t shirt of mine states with Scottish "furries" (animals) on it......Ye would naye understand! Malcolm

Black Stewart does it for me today. Sadly, few, if any, of those I meet today will understand or know the reason.

For those of you who haven't visited Culloden, here's a few photos I made there a few trips ago.
Of all the battlefields I've ever visted, this is the saddest.
