Most of us just eat too much. Cutting down the amount and removing some things altogether will drop many pounds without doing much else. I stopped drinking sodas and replaced them with plain water. Increasing water intake gets the kidneys working and takes a load off of the liver so it can function better. All that helps you drop a few pounds. I also reduced the amount of fast food (hamburgers and fries) I consume for lunch. Replaced them with a fruit lunch. Now that spring has arrived I am taking the dog for a 1-mile walk at least every other day. I was at 186 pounds with 39" around the belly. My Union Kilt was ordered as a 38". It was a little loose so other kilts have been a size 36". A tape measure around the middle still shows 39" but the 36" kilt feel about right. I have had to tighten up the straps and belt on the 38" kilt. I think some fat has been reduced from the sides. My weight is now 177. The hard part is pulling that belly in. My hips are 35". Now I just need to stop eating that nightly dish of ice cream and piece of pie for dinner.
Good luck with your weight loss

That's a fine looking kilt, Arlen. I'm glad you decided to get the Heritage of Wales kilt. The weight loss will come, and you will be wearing it in no time. Enjoy.

Hmmm...and I've been ordering my kilts a bit larger so they'd fit my weight gain when they arrived a few months later....
serious. I start working days next week and am trying to figure out some way to walk to and from work (2 miles one way) and still have time for lunch or a car at the door of the office after work.

Arlen, that's a good-looking kilt. Congrats! And, good luck on the weight-loss. I lost 20 lbs recently myself by substituting fish for beef; although, being a Texan, I wil not give up beef altogether. Sushi is my new pig-out, food, though.

Congrats on the new kilt and the impending move to the States!
Re the weight loss. I've been doing Weight Watchers for about 9 months now and have lost almost 50 pounds. Staying hydrated is key, along with increasing movement - walking, gardening etc count, by the way.
Ditching soda helps a BUNCH.
