I'm gonna make my mom one cut on the bias similar (but cut & sewed right!) to hers. Mum won't wear a kilted skirt nor a straight skirt. So..... I guess it's up to me to get it right!

A few skirt patterns. Several are adaptable to Kilted skirts as well as a box pleat dress!

and on ebay @ http://cgi.ebay.com/Sewing-Pattern-M...2em118Q2el1247 as of this posting date.

I deleted th elovely picture of the bridesmaids dress with the tartan top...pic is way too big.
....And replaced it with this, which is a look I'm sure all our lasses will be emulating this summer, especially with those boots.

Here is something I don't see catching on:

On a skirt, however, the tartan bow is kind of cute:

Yeah, my girlfriend and I had a convo last night at dinner about what she'll wear to the parade and dinner the night before the Scottish games in Greenville, SC. I guess it is hard for her to try to match me somewhat.
She's jealous that I will probably get all the looks that night. Now I'll know how girls feel, always getting checked out.

I had been searching for a thread like this and finally found it. So glad, Alan, you started this thread about ladieswear! I have some ideas and links now to begin. So far I have only a couple of sashes of two different clans, but do want a skirt in my own clan tartan (Keith)
