Mixed Norman and Celtic blood
Although I'm only a newbie, from having read a good few pages on the various boards, I can see that many are deeply keen to mention their Celtic blood.
Now, on various lines of lineage, I have Celtic blood but, if the truth be known, being a Fraser my ancestors came over to Scotland from near Anjou in France in the 11th Century.
What made them Scottish, however, was that they not only inter-married with the locals but took on their way of life, kilt's 'n' all!
To that end, I'm as Scots as the next man. How say you?!
Cheers

There is Norman blood aplenty in my veins and I feel as Scots as any Scot.

Just call me Heinz. As in Heinz-57... a pure mutt if you care to know. The thing that is most Scottish about me is my surname.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

I have a similar makeup
I say yeah. My last name is Jarvis and I have been told that I have a tie to the Fraser Clan. I also claim to be of Norman and Celtic Ancestry. I have done some research and my earliest ancestors came across with William the conquoer in 1066 and 1st settled in what in now Cornwall one of the 6 Celtic Nations. Later to spread throughout the British Isles. Heavily in the Strath Cyde area of Scotland.
Cheers!

At this point in history there are very few people of British descent who do not have Norman and Celtic ancestry. (E.g., like many, I descend from several Scots kings as well as the English kings William I, John, and Edwards I & III.) However, see "Blood of the Isles" by Brian Sykes, a geneticist whose research shows that all Britons, even the English, are predominately of Celtic descent. The Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Danes, Vikings and Normans seem to have made far less of a contribution to the British gene pool than is popularly thought.

Well, since the topic was brought up- I'm Scot, Irish, German, and English. I like to get drunk and kick my own as... butt.

Scots all over Scotland have Celtic, Pictish, Viking, Norman and even 'English' blood in them.
There was a big debate before about what make you Scottish and there's no need to get into that again.
I say celebrate what you have and who you are!

Although my family is under Clan Gordon, which came from Normandy, it is most likely (we don't know for sure) that my blood ancestors were in Scotland since the beginning and joined the Gordons when they established themselves in Scotland.
