I was in one of those life flashes before your eyes car accidents about 12 years ago. I describe it as parking my car under a moving semi; it was sort of amazing for several days to think about it. Fortunately, no one was injured in our incident, although the car was a total loss with two payments remaining.

That plane was headed to Charlotte. Guess what's been on TV all night. Covered it from all angles. Thank goodness no one injured.

Outstanding job by the pilots. Glad to hear that everyone's OK.

From what they're saying, it ended up right in front of the ferry terminals and a bunch of ferry boats zipped out to pick the passengers up.

And after landing in Charlotte, there were several people bound for Asheville, not far from where I live.

In addition to the pilot and crew, I believe there was Someone Else holding on to that plane, too.

There were injuries, but none serious. There was some hypothermia, and one of the flight attendants had broken bones.

This was an excellent example of things going right in an emergency. The flight crew got the plane down intact. The cabin attendants got the passengers out in an orderly fashion. The passengers remained relatively calm. The responders were on scene in a few minutes. The authorities had the foresight to practice for this type of emergency.

A hearty "Well Done!" to everyone involved.

Full kudos for the pilot - its not something they can fully train for in ensuring minimum impact with the water.

You always get the safety stuff in the demo about water landings but so much of that depends on the skill of the pilot getting down as safely as possible.

And not easy to steer without engines to get the plane to the Hudson either.

Having flown from La Guardia myself I appreciate its proximity to water all the more.

I think an experience like that helps you to put your life into perspective. I doubt any of them will be worrying about the 'credit crunch' or any of the other nonsense the media likes to worry everybody with.

Every day from now on will be another which they may never have seen.

A plane crash with no loss of life - great news indeed!!
