Don't some people mark instructions on themselves nowadays to prevent such blunders? I.e. with a thick, red felt-tipped marker write: NOT THIS KNEE and a big red 'X' on it...

When I had the 'scope done on that knee the last thing the surgical team did before they scrubbed in was come into the "ready room" with a sharpie and put an X on the knee they were going to work on. got the same doc so no worries there

As a physician I am aware of all manner of horror stories. When I had my ACL repaired several years ago the surgeon gave me a magic marker and told me to mark the knee he was supposed to operate on, just for certainty sake. I drew a line across my thigh above the knee, then an arrow pointing down toward the knee saying "cut here". I then drew another arrow pointing up my thigh above the line saying "don't cut here". My surgeon said the anesthesiologist and OR nurses busted a gut when they uncovered me to prep my knee after I was asleep.

I have my recovery kilts prepared. Thanks for you wishes for a painless recovery, but as for a slow recovery your hopes WILL be dashed!!!!!
You should also remember from the downing of your blimp that I am a "Kilted Archer" knee surgery will not have any effect on my ability or acuracy in that area. I have also spoken to my counterparts and they have assured me of extra vigilance.

Best of luck! This will be a very good thing, you just need to get through the rehab.

They will start flexing it almost immediately; and have you starting PT by the second day, I would guess. Follow instructions, and it's not too bad a rehab (though not the easiest).
