Trying to be sure of Grampa's tartan

I was able to take this photo home recently from my father's album.
It's a picture of my maternal great uncle, known to me as "grampa", as he and my great aunt raised my Mom. The handwritten note on the back of the photo reads,

    "Christmas, 1961, England"

It LOOKS like the Stewart Hunting tartan to me, but the photo is old and dark, so I'm not sure. His own background was Campbell, but "grandma" had many Royal Stewart tartan items, including a bagpiper doll and wool blanket we now own.
What tartan do you think he's wearing in this kilt photo?
    Opinions please?

Kind of looks like MacCleod of Harris to me.

    Regards,
    Rex.

Or perhaps M'Kenzie. Judging from the green waist band and high cut, it might be a Seaforth Highlanders kilt. Although considered the Clan M'Kenzie tartan, it was first worn by the Seaforth Highlanders. Just a thought.

Hmm, yes. The main visible difference between the two is whether the lighter overstripe is yellow or white---no wait, the McLeod of Harris would have the red and yellow evenly spaced, if I recall correctly.

If I were a betting man, I'm going for Seaforth Highlanders. I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

I would also go with MacKenzie, Seaforth Highlanders. Also judging by what appears to be a green waistband, that tends to lead one to think it's of M.O.D. (Ministry of Defence) origin. I also checked through three of my Tartan books on hand and they all shouted MacKenzie to me .
