True, the Kingdom of Dal Riata was originally Irish (populated by the Scoti). It eventually spread to the west coast of Scotland (Alba) which is how the Scots got to Scotland.
In Chicago, when I'm wearing a kilt, about half the folks who question me ask if I'm Irish. I'll be wearing my Irish National tartan on St. Patrick's Day.

I'm definitely rocking my Irish National SWK on St Patrick's Day. No matter what the wife says. I'm off work that day, staying home with the kids since we won't have anyone to look after them that day (my father in law is having a medical procedure done in the morning and my mother in law has to take him. they watch the kids for us).

I'll be at my local watering hole (Jack Of The Wood) for at least a couple hours on St. Patty's day in my SWK Irish National. I've a lot of Irish blood in me as well as Scottish, so I will celebrate with the appropriate combination of traditions... kilts and beer. haha.

The only day I won't wear a kilt is Halloween. Too many think its a costume.

I'm not sure about wearing my kilt to work on St. Patrick's Day. There's no real dress code as long as you're covered up, so that's not my worry. One of my co-workers is Scottish and I dare say she'll give me a little ribbing for wearing a kilt on an Irish holiday...
We'll see!

As of today I'm not sure if I'll wear my dark green kilt or my Irish National. Maybe I'll wear the Irish National to school and then change to the Dark Green later. Decisions, decisions.

I will be wearing mine on Sunday in Baltimore with a few lads on a long walk.

This year I will also be wearing my Irish National to work on the day

Bryan,
St. Pat's (as we know it)* is mostly an American invention, what with green beer and silly clown wigs at the Wal-Mart's and all, much like Cinco de Mayo is more corrupted in this country than in our southern neighbor. Wear what you want and post pictures! And remember, don't mess with Texas.
