I have had situations like this very often. However, I have a wonderful girlfriend so I can never capitalize on any of them. The funny thing is women do this even in my sport kilts. I don't have a sporran kilt pin or anything really nice. Just the sport kilt and I still get it. Imagine what it will be like when I ever can afford a nice wool kilt.

I was just wearing my USA Casual Ireland's National tartan kilt. And, I have a wonderful supportive wife. But, it does the ego good.

There is a lovely young bartender I've been trying to take to dinner. I always get, 'we'll see', or 'we should'. She never actually commits, or says no. I was after it again today(I stop in for lunch, great kitchen) and she said"You just keep trying."
As I was leaving, I said "I'll be back for another exercise in futility. You're going to make me unleash the power of the kilt, aren't you?"
"We'll see if it works." was her response, she was pouing a beer at the time, so I have no idea about the look on her face.

The real reason the English outlawed the kilt along with the bagpipes, is because they were intimidated by the raw testosterone.
