The area between the neck and the family jewels looks like it could have been a photo of your's truly as well. Since I share the same...er... build currently, I feel qualified to say that it could well be that the gut took too much of the lens' field of view to get the whole shot in...........Click, ducking for cover.
I think we both belong to the clan MacDonalds (the "Golden Arches" one).

Very few who wield a camera know how to use it, and again that includes myself. Your "volunteer" brings home that point.

I found some luck in asking the person to take a picture of "my kilt," instead of just "taking my picture."

Yes, beautiful scenic backdrop, Ron, but I also have had the problem of asking people to take my photo then they take a head and shoulders shot which shows nothing of the kilt. Perhaps its a sign that kilts are now taken for granted and are no longer a novelty in the eyes of the person taking our photos.
