There's a Pipe Band scene in "Patton".

Never cared for that movie, especially that scene. Of course, I prefer T.R. Jr. and "Terrible" Terry Allen to Patton myself.

These are all twentieth century examples - I thought "this side of the twentieth century" meant the current one?

I concur. I much preferred the trumpeters and drumhorse in the beginning.

Indeed, but the Naval landing party band in The Wind and the Lion tops them all.

    But I digress...

How about all the kilts in Breaker Morant? A very good film and one that was not even mentioned in the original War Movie thread. Though it was done in 1980. As for this side of the 20th Century with Trefor's criteria in mind I'm not sure if there are kilts in either of these movies but they are the two I can think of that are recent. The Stone of Destiny (I've not seen it yet) not sure about kilts in it. The other one would be The Legend of the Water Horse, again I've not seen this one, so not sure about kilts in it either.

It was number 1 on my list in that thread, Glen.

Doh A good choice Todd sorry I read your list when you posted it and forgot to go back and check again after it popped into my head this morning.

Yes -- a pipe band plays "Cock o' the North" as the Light Horse are boarding the transport ship to leave for the Dardenelles. I used to know the name of the W.A. pipe band.
