NW PA - that would be the one.
By the spelling and your location in Grand Island, I kind of thought maybe. Edinboro University is my undergraduate Alma Mater.

Does that make you a Fighting Scot Santa?
Edinboro was where I earned my Master's.

A tourist stopped, took our photo, and commented that we "looked authentic, because we looked miserable." I never worried about staying out of the rain again.

That's hilarious! Not that I would laugh at your misfortune... Luckily for us, we have a rather large tent that we call the Knotty Dirk Pub. Our whole group and several guests can fit in that monster. www.renscots.org

When I was there, they were the "Red Raiders". The Fighting Scots came after I had graduated with my Bachelors Degree. The Fighting Scots is certainly apprpriate since the signs entering Edinboro read, "Named for the city in Scotland" I don't know how the teams came to be called the Red Raiders with the indian image before and while I was there.

Are you sure you're not speaking of the Richmond Highland Games? They are the last weekend in October and it has rained two out of the last three years. Had a great time all three years, though.

Go.
I was out camping and kilted at a Folk Music Festival three weeks ago.
USAK Casual shed rain and dried quickly in any lull.
Wool hose were (as advertised) warm when damp.
There were RVs, canopies, and structures to retreat into periodically.

Don't worry...I went to the games. See the 'Photos' boards for a full review.
