My mother is interested in that sort of thing. I'll ask her.

I wish I could come to this, or help out. It sounds like fun and a good event. It'd be a blast to help with the music too. However, California to Texas... not happenin'.
PLEASE oh please post pictures when it comes to fruition!

Skauwt, the kilt pin is heavy and massive - great job - thanks.
Detroit Pete, the flashes and hangers are terrific - thanks.
Puddle Muddle, the belt is a real beauty - thank you.
Pipey is knitting up some killer socks - true originals.
Thanks to everybody who followed up on their pledge or donation.

Colonel,
OK, I've got 2 very accomplished members of a locally popular celtic group considering playing. I'm pretty sure they'll do it, I just need their confirmation before I name names. They are a guitarist/singer and a fiddler. They are a little disappointed about the 15 minute timeframe that I told them we would need them to play. Do you think the pub would mind if they jammed a little before and after the ceremony?

They can play before the ceremony, during the "changing time" and after the ceremony. They can play till their fingers get blisters.

Set for Saturday. About half the people who said they would send stuff did, but we have an 8 yard kilt, a 5 yard sport kilt, kilt hose, kilt pin, belt & buckle, flashes, and a few other items. Nobody ever sent the tartan boxers (2 different x-markers said they would),
We have musicians set up, we just need to work on turn-out now.
Cheers, ColMac

As long as work does not send me off to a different direction... I should be there.. so far I am in Burleson...working in Maypearl.. but in my business.. everything is subject to change.

I hope the local paper and news gets a hold of this. It would be a good human interest for one of the major networks as well. Not to mention a plug for the X Marks board to get more folk interested in kilting.
