availability of capercaillie tartan
A few years ago there was a discussion about the capercaillie tartan on this site. I am interested in eventually having a kilt made with this tartan, but it is sounding to me like it may be a hard fabric to get hold of.... Does anyone on XMarks know if there are kilt makers out there who have access to this tartan, or am I barking up the wrong tree...? Just curious.

Matt Newsome or Barbara Tewksbury could get a kilt length of any custom tartan woven for your kilt. Yes, it does cost a bit more than than the readily available tartans, but you don't have to 30yds woven either. I want to say that Matt has quoted $65 a single width yard.

Capercaille tartan
It was designed by Lochcarron, so it might be worth checking with them first
and here is a link to where you could buy it, retail supplier
And remember lots of people can get tartan woven
