I was there on Saturday and spent a while watching the games. I'm assuming you were the fellow with the bright yellow dandelion on yer kilt?

Enjoyed it as usual. My first time to play with the Bagpipe band I joined, Fort Worth Pipe and Drums. I'm a drummer and, I'll be honest here, I was not happy with my performance. The festival was great though, they had to make some last minute location changes and did a pretty good job.

As a spectator, all I can say is that I didn't notice. Everyone sounded great!

I was there on Saturday, met some XMarkers, and took a fair number of pictures. I'm rather busy with school this week, but I intend to make a lengthy post in the pics forum when I find the time.

You should have stuck around for the photos.

Sadly I was unable to make it to the games this year, as I am deployed to Iraq right now. I was there last year though (great time!) and I will be there again next year. My band (well, the band I play with) was there though (Sally's Garden) and they told me they had a wonderful time again this year. I believe we're going to make the Salado Highland Games a tradition to attend!
Slaínte,
Robert

Is that the group that plays at the bookstore on 410 (the one next to the Goodwill) on Sunday afternoons? I was there about a year ago and happened to talk to the lady that owns it, and mentioned to her that I play the mandolin. She mentioned a band that plays there on Sundays that I swear was called Sally's Garden.
