What if you were a boy named Sue?
Congrats on the skirt, and for making your little girl very happy.

You and your daughter are so lucky! That is a beautiful skirt in a very special and much admired tartan! Outstanding find.

Wow what a great find. Obviously it's a fairly new skirt because the Isle of Skye tartan hasn't been around very long.

Back around 1980 I had a girlfriend who found a wonderful floor-length kilt skirt, Made in Scotland etc, as well as a nice black velvet vest and lacy white blouse, to wear at formal Scottish events.

For many years I've wondered how many mens kilts have ended up on the womens clothing racks at Goodwill and other thrift shops.

Everybody keeps saying skirt, but I am seeing pleats at the back. That looks like a kilt to me.

    Regards

I thought it was a kilted skirt... It has the shallow pleats across the back, and it's fringed on the left.

A kilted skirt - I would have thought of that eventually. It's obvious now, if it had been a kilt, the boy would have been 12 foot tall.
