    Poly Viscose Buchanan Modern

Does it exist? I've Googled high and low for such a creature but the only thing I've found is Buchanan Ancient in PV (generally via Marton Mills) and Modern in acrylic through the Frugal Corner. Do I have any hope of finding my Modern in PV or should I just go for the acrylic (even with pilling and flammability considered) since it's so relatively inexpensive?

I've spoken in the past with Rocky at USAK about getting Buchanan Modern in stock and he's told me that there doesn't seem to be enough general demand for such a loud tartan. I believe he also gets his PV material from Marton Mills which doesn't seem to produce Buchanan Mod in PV to begin with. The Buchanan Ancient is a wonderful tartan though! I have a PV kilt in that style which I ordered from ScotWeb a while back, also from MM I believe.

I just checked their web site and they have Buchanan listed as a choice. I believe their Buchanan is what you call "Buchanan Modern"

The Buchanan we carry in PV is NOT Buchanan Modern. It's the Buchanan Muted. You're correct that MM only weaves it in the muted color scheme.

9 out of 10 people that come to us for the Buchanan tartan see the muted one and are pleasantly surprised that it's NOT the bright Buchanan Modern.

    I hope this info helps!
