What kind of special order stuff does he do? Does he ever special order kilts NOT in the cursed "standard" 24" length?

I had occasion to talk to him about a USMC belt buckle, and he said he had some Leatherneck wool material leftover, and asked if I wanted a Leatherneck tartan Stillwater heavyweight. I said yes.

Probably. For about 5 years the SWK website has said: "We also offer our standard kilts in custom waist and length, in any of our stock tartans, pleated to the sett or stripe...Please contact us for details."

I haven't seen that before. I've always seen this:
"We do not offer hemming service at this time, this is best done by any local tailor/seamstress."

And reading that I haven't bothered them with a query about alternative lengths. Can you give me the link to the page where you found that "custom waist and length" reference?

I had to think about it, but it's on the Kilts> Standard page (not in the shopping or sizing info pages) since it's specific to the standard model:

Ah! I found it! I'd been looking in the web store at the different kilts and the sizing info. That is VERY good news and a fact that I bet a lot of folks don't know (I believe I've read several threads here lamenting the SWK 24" length...I know I've whined about it in the past). Thanks for showing me the light!

Of course, now this means there's yet another kilt on my wish list......
