    LOL!

Thanks Matt, I was thinking that it may have been David, and I was correct in that regard! David, well done mate - though I am not suprised in the least of your style for Highland day attire...you and I have much in common my friend.

I am curious about your day jacket: Who made it? Is it bespoke or off the peg? Is there a slight pattern in the tweed (it almost appears as there are vertical and horizontal coloured lines)? Are you wearing a matching waistcoat, or just the jacket? I love your hose as well; the croquet pattern from Almost Unwearoutable I take it?!

    Absolutely bang on attire mate!

Nevermind, taking a closer look, I can see that you are wearing a belt and buckle, not a matching waistcoat David. Also, what tartan are you wearing? Quite a beautiful sett.

    Cheers,

    Cheers,
I can answer that one, as I made his kilt. That's the Carolina tartan, a 6 yard kilt, heavy weight worsted. I have a four yard box pleated kilt from the same tartan.

In this photo, while I look like I've been run through the car wash, David was jacketed, betied, hatted, and looked cool as a cucumber. The man doesn't sweat, even when it's about 98 degrees and humid!

The man looks as good as HRH the Duke of Rothesay when he gets all gussied up! And methinks he always gets all gussied up!

All kidding aside, David's attire is decidedly classic, and is a good example for anyone to follow.

Makes me think twice about what I'm going be wearing next time he's around!

Haha - sounds exactly like me Jim!!! I am the same way with my Highland attire - you look wonderful too, nice and casual - and cool I am sure! What games were you guys at? Now that I live in the greater Cincinnati area, I am curious if I will be closer to many other more 'prominent' games, say in western North Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia even? I'd love to meet many of you in person...I think we would all have a grand time!

    Cheers Jim,

    Kyle,

Thanks to you and Jim for your kind words, although the cupcakes were the real hit!

Rocky at USA Kilts had several jacket lengths of tweed at a discounted price which he advertised in a thread here on XMarks. I chose one in a nice brown/tan mix with a windowpane overcheck in orange/red. It was "made to order", so I specified my jacket size, but not "made to measure". When I ordered the jacket I specified the number of buttons, no epaulets, plain cuffs, and plain pocket flaps. It also came with a matching waistcoat, which I wear in cooler weather. Rocky was great to work with and the jacket was a great value at the discounted price. I agree with Sandy, instead of coming up with a "name" for your jacket style, it's best to just describe what features you want.

The kilt belt I picked up from McRostie, and the hose are indeed from AUW.

Matt superbly crafted the kilt out of heavyweight Dalgliesh fabric. The tartan is Carolina and the colors are Wilson's of Bannockburn. It's one of my favorites.

    Cordially,

    David

I must say this is a mighty fine looking Tartan.
