looking for modern style jacket
i found a three button crail jacket online that i love, but cant find it anywhere else, was hoping to find it locally (edmonton, alberta) or have it custom tailored. does anyone have any suggestions of where in edmonton a guy can find a nice kilt jacket, or have one made? i have talked to a few suit makers and no one seems to want to make me a jacket. i will order it online if i have to but am a little worried about ordering a custom fit garment without being measured by the tailor themself. any info from alberta folk would be much appreciated.

Hopefully there's at least one vendor in Edmonton!
If nothing turns up locally, try any of Xmarks' Canadian sponsors: Keltoi, Burnett's & Struth, Freedom Kilts, (others?)
I would not hesitate to buy from any of our sponsors, but life may be simpler with a domestic transaction (customs duties, postal delays).

Edmontonian
I'm originally from "E-Ville" and I believe the main (only?) kilt shop is the Scottish Imports store. They were on Whyte ave for ages but have been at their new location on 124th street for about a year. I'll post their website but it doesn't really cover everything they have in store or their services, so it's worth passing by to check them out:

I would think most any quality retailer of Scottish Highland clothing could supply such a jacket. Freedom Kilts, Burnettes & Struth, etc., would all do well.
Now, if you go into a random Scottish import shop and ask for a "modern kilt jacket" they may not know what you are talking about, but if you ask for a "three-button craill jacket" they should be able to provide that.
Here's the STM's version of such:

The jacket I am wearing in the photo has braemar sleeves, but here is me wearing the same style with craill sleeves (and an additional ticket pocket).

heh, Steve said that the jackets are available (I want one two(Freudian slip?)), but they just aren't up on the website yet so it's likely the webmaster who's slack. Steve might better be described as industrious, like the beaver.

I'm not sure if it is still available to order, but you can always contact him and ask? I'd love to see more of them around......It's not overly formal and would be a fantastic option instead of a crail, I think.
Click the photos for a link and some more info......

I am 4 weeks into a 8 week wait on my jacket from Steve...There were lots of materials to choose from.
I am excited about it's arrival!!!!!!!!!

That sentence was entirely tongue in cheek
For those who understand, no explanation is necessary; for those who don't, none is possible.
