    I think the material was $11 on ebay. I had to buy a bag of leather remnants from Michaels Crafts for $9 to make the straps. I now have leather up the ying yang since all I ever make with it is kilt straps. Everything else, I had already...thread, canvas, interfacing, spare buckle etc.

    The leather bag came with about half a mile of lacing, so I might try making a braided sporran strap out of it. Sounds like a nice evening project.
