Ah, managed to view the OP at last (on my phone). It doesn't look like military cloth or to have faded. It's inconceivable that the black, blue and green would have faded so uniformly but not the yellow. No, this is a deliberate weaving in these shades although probably an error in colour selection/placing. From the image it’s difficult to tell more. "
Yes that is the problem. The sett looks like Cameron but the colours are all off. The colour on the inside of the kilt (deep in the pleats) is the same as the outer areas that are exposed to sunlight. So the outer surfaces of the tartan have not faded significantly as compared to the sheltered areas. The kilt has a white cotton broad cloth lining. What other images would be helpful to see? An extreme close up of the weave perhaps? Let me know and I shall endeavour to take the necessary photographs. I have other Cameron kilts and this one just doesn't fit in the line.
