A Most Unexepected Compliment
So this afternoon the clients are doing a closure group with each other and staff since they graduate from 60 days of residential treatment tomorrow.
A young Navajo man I've worked with off and on at another agency since he was in the juvenile court system, but he's now 20 years old and with me through the adult Superior Court system, tells me he respects me for wearing the kilt and honoring my cultural heritage.
He pointed out some things that the Navajo culture and Scottish culture have in common (booze and wool).
It was a most unexpected, and welcome compliment.
And wonderful to hear.
Of course I'll be kilted for the graduation cermony tomorrow.
