Both boots go well (and both are fab!!). Black is dressier, but can EASILY be dressed down depending on your top/ jacket. Like black boots, denim jacket, scarf= casual.
I'd do black tights with those.
For the brown, I'd do grey cable knit/ sweater knit tights (at Target for around $5) or grey knee high socks scrunched down a bit.
Not a tartan skirt, but the spirit of the outfit is similar.

I wouldn't worry about matching the leather colors of your buckles to your shoes. It's more important that the styles work together than the colors. Black buckles and brown buckles are neutrals.
I'd encourage against nude/ tan, which is more "office" appropriate in a very corporate setting.
Thats exactly what I was looking for! regular tights sort of make me feel like a 5 year old. I think there is something a little more "grown up" about cable knit sweater tights. lol. The length of my skirt is about mid-knee (im going to go ahead and add that to the original post too)
