Matoaca, VA, Celtic Fest
Hello All,
Just today I was on a bike ride in rural Central Virginia and saw signs for "A Jeep Thing" and "Celtic Fest". Yep, they're the same event in Matoaca, VA.
Represented were the St. Andrew's Legion of Richmond, VA, the Metro Richmond Police Emerald Society and the Scots Guard. Most of the pipers & drummers wore leather Outback cowboy hats as a unifying piece of uniform. There was a great diversity in tartans with Black Watch being most common. I only saw one clan tent for Ross.
There were Native Americans, Civil War & Viet Nam War reenactors also. The Jeeps were Willy's-era/brand. A jazz band from Fort Lee was to have played at 2pm.
I intend to go back next year kilted. Hope to see others from here.
