Today, in my little corner of the Earth there was a big celebration - the 50th Anniversary of the Navajo Nation Tribal Park Service.
An old rug (huge) woven in 1920 formed the back of the dias.
There were lots of dignitaries and honchos and speaches. And there was dancing.
The Apache Crown Dancers were invited to dance too.
I like them because they're unbifurcated, and they dance to heal - particularly the babies in attendance...
And here I am in my USA Kilts semi-trad in Calidonia with Miss Western Navajo
Lots of positive comments from the Navajo folks, the usual request for pictures and some double takes. A fun day of celebration.
