Out of the misty fog, a kiltee emerges
I decided to walk downtown and buy a couple new stretched canvases (for paintings). In my city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, there is a huge natural 'glacial' hill that had a star-shaped fort built on top called 'Citadel Hill' (once a real fort, now a National historic site). Because this is basically located between my place and downtown (and it's a wee bit of exercise too) I generally walked up it, and down the stairs and path out front by the "Town Clock" (an old clock building on the front slope of the hill).
Anyway, it was such a foggy day I could barely see any buildings downtown and not even the harbour which is only a short distance away. At the top of the hill outside the main gate to the fort, these two women were there at the platform taking their foggy photos with the Town Clock in the background (I learned later that they are from Ottawa on some business meeting trip). I was walking up to them to go down the stairs (in my kilted attire) and they beckoned me to have my picture taken with them.
So they each had their photo taken with me and they were asking me if I worked there to which I replied 'no' and that I always wear my kilts when out and about as everyday clothes. I should have given them a card so they could email me the photos.
Anyway... just another interested event in the kilted life.
