I am very impressed. Most hunter style sporrans look like some sort of case-hardened gonad shield. But this looks soft and tactile. I've got to say that I have never wanted a hunter style before, but I want one like that.

Yes, the deer hide is very soft. I had to add stiffeners along the front edges and the front is layered in several places. The top of the back has a stiffener down to just below the strap attachment D-rings and the entire interior is lined with another layer of deer hide. Even with all of that, it is still lighter than my pin-latch standard leather day sporran.
