I got there later on Sunday than I'd planned, around noon-thirty. Did manage to say hi to some Xmarkers though, and had a wonderful afternoon!
Postscript: As it was a bright and hot day projected to hit a high temp of 98 (F), I'd considered taking along my 'roohide "outback" hat from Barmah. But for some reason, much as I love that hat and wear it often, I still haven't been able to bring myself to wear it with a kilt. I did find myself noticing kilted men with headgear, though, and saw so many wearing similarly broad-brimmed hats that they seemed almost a uniform of sorts -- certainly they vastly outnumbered balmorals and glengarries combined.
I decided to keep my cool with a short-sleeved safari shirt in British tan; no headgear; and SPF 100 sunscreen. Panache, when I saw him, was of course wearing his famous pith helmet.
