Made a copper brooch for the missus
After she saw the pen annular brooch I made, the wife wanted one too but out of copper. So as any wise man would do I said "yes mó ghráidh" and headed off to buy stock.
I started with 1/4 x 1/4 inch copper stock. I heated it until glowing dull red and twisted it. Once it was twisted how I liked, I bent it into a circle.

From there, the ends were cut to length, heated, hammered, shaped and bend into place. My steel brooch is here for comparison.

Then it was time to cold hammer some copper sheet, trim it to shape, ridge it for strength, heat it and bend it into place.

A bit of clean up, and here's my wife happily wearing it with her MacLaren sash which will be proudly worn at the upcoming Loon Mountain games.
