Afro Kilt Exhibit in Ann Arbor at University of Michigan Oct 1-6 2012

Afro-Kilt: The Thread That Binds
“Afro-Kilt: The Thread That Binds” refers to the study of the connections between Scotland and Nigeria through textiles. The exhibition will display Sally Volkmann’s photographs and artifacts collected from her travels to Scotland in June of 2012.
Research and travel opportunities were made possible by the Kelly McKinnell Memorial Award which promotes travel and photography for Art & Design students.
