The SPORRAN that started it all...
Another member recently posted a thread titled "The Kilt That Started It All" and it got me thinking...which sporran was your first?
I will start. My first sporran was a very simple black leather day sporran that I made myself. It was very modest and has simce been gifted to a friend who wanted one.
I now have a brown day sporran with a drop pin closure (from Tartanista [not a bad vendor...good price, decent for the price range]) and a very nice black sporran (with a finely tooled St. Andrews Saltire and a Rampant Lion on the flap) for nicer occasions by A_Hay!, one of our members.
The brown sporran gets more everyday wear (so as to take the brunt of wear-and-tear) but the black one has sentimental value (and thus worn less frequently so as to preserve its high quality). It was a gift and an act of kindness that was completely unexpected and showed me right away how wonderful and generous the folks here at "Clan X-Marks" really can be.
What are your sporran stories?
