The Cincinnati, Ohio metropolitan area has a population of a bit over 2 million. Let’s assume there are about 1 million males. Our local Caledonian Society has about 400 members. Not all members own a kilt, but then, not all kilt wearers belong to the Caledonian Society. For simplicity’s sake, let’s assume these latter two variables offset each other. This yields a (VERY) simplistic estimate of about one kilt-wearer per 2500 men in the Cincinnati metropolitan area. As there is just one establishment in our town that rents kilts, I would guess that most kilt-wearers in Cincinnati own the kilt they wear.
