I love the Canadian tartans but they do tend to pill more than the clan tartans.
I agree with Bubba. Those battery operated de-pillers work. They work slowly, though. I experimented with several methods and found that sticking duct tape on the pilled area and yanking it off works much faster.
(Like a woman waxing her legs, but less painful.)
Nice to hear you're wearing your kilt enough to cause it to pill!
