Well My weekend is over . As some of you may remember I was going to the west of Norway to a town called Lærdal . The town is famous for it’s Wild Salmon museum. However we where there to go sea fishing in the beautiful Sognefjord.


Friday began early .03:15 am I had to get up for work I had to start at 04:00am. I had to finish a Project I was working on before I left for the weekend. I was finished by 10:00 am . So it was off home to pack my things and of course a trip to the takle shop for the last bit’s and bobs for the fisking trip.

Luckily I didn’t have to drive the four hours it took to get to Lærdal as I got a lift from my Brother-in-laws mate John. He got a little suprise when he saw me kilted. His comment was thai he thought it looked really great. We stopped for coffee after about 2 hours and I got all the usual stares at the garage . I just love that. After this we made our way on nearly empty roads up Hemsedal (That where I got the Monach pictures taken) The road is often colsed in winter and is only passable by convoy driving behind a snowplough. As you can see snow had allredy reached some of the tops.

We arrived in Lærdal around 19:30 so we went to pack our fishing gear on the boat. It was a beautiful insthore trawler by the name of Rudo.Then it was on to our hosts broters house a minutes walk from Lærdal centre.We had a very nice evning and I even got to play some darts.

The next morning it was up early 06:30am and on to the boat by 07:00am We spent the whole day out on the fjord we caught abort 50Kg’s of fish and we even got to see some seals basking on the rocks. Later we had a barbecue on the boat. We all got to bed late.

The next day I did a little sight seeing in Lærdal and then I drove back With my Brother-in law .We went via a turist route passed a mountain farm called “Galdene” and then back over Hemsedal and on home to celebrate his birthday With the rest of our family.I got to play With my wifes foster broters Great Dane “Santo” he’s only still a puppy. I’ve offered to look after him if ever he need’s to be.

All in all a great weekend
